A Bit of "Fuzzy History"

Why a ferret rescue?... 

In The Beginning...

Like most everyone else who gets their first ferret, I started out with just one, Frosty, an albino whos human family didn't want him anymore.

  I didn't know a whole lot about ferrets or their needs but thanks to a knowledgeable bunch of ferret organizations web sites...I was soon catching on!

Ferrets are such a loveable bunch of characters...it's hard to stop at just one! (kinda like those potato chips!)

As the years went by, one ferret turned into two, two turned into four, and before ya knew it four turned into seven!

Where'd they all come from?

Unlike most ferret owners, who had purchased ferrets from a pet store...all of the "Fuzzies" that have adopted me have come from situations where their previous families could no longer keep them.

Unfortunately for ferrets, people sometimes don't realize what they're getting into when they get a ferret.

There were not many resources in the local area for ferrets... the occasional "escapee" who sneeks out of their owners house and is found wandering around the neighborhood, had nowhere to stay 'till their owners caught back up with them!

Sometimes, just because situations change at home where the owners just don't have the time for them that they wish they did.

 Or worse, the occasional ferret that gets put out to fend for itself because...well...just because.

That's why we're here!

If there's a ferret in need, here is an open door where it can recieve vet care if necessary and find another good home!
